Commitment is a classic free-fusion band featuring Will Connell, Jr. (sax, cl) Jason Kao Hwang (violin), Zen Matsuura (drums) and William Parker (b).  They are significant in being one of the first bands to marry African Americans and Asians in a contemporary jazz band.  The fusion yielded a wealth of creativity and though it was relatively short lived, it marked a significant movement.  This two-disc set contains a previous studio recording (October, 1980) and a live session recorded in Germany (May 1983).  The live set had never been released until now. It captures the essence of Commitment and the extension of their existence on foreign soil.
